March Madness!

March Service Hours: 8

Total Service Hours: 12

What a crazy busy month it has been! In school, we have finished up all of our lecture modules and now I am preparing for the shelf exam or the medical pharmacology final exam. This exam covers all of the modules from this semester and last semester, so it can appear to be daunting. I have made a rock-solid study plan to follow, and it will allow me to review all of the modules as well as study with friends at a comfortable rate. I am very excited that we are about to enter the last month of this program. This means that I am only a few weeks from finding out where I will be going to nursing school. I could be starting nursing school as early as July, so I am very anxious to know where I will be and to start the final stretch of my schooling. This month, I was able to finish up my service hours but volunteering with ASPCA with a friend during adoption days. I have my own doggo to love on at home, but it always touches my heart to see a doggo find their forever home. It was very difficult to not bring all of them home with me! I finished up my hours this month by helping NOLA clean up following a tornado hitting. Can you believe that? A whole tornado hit NOLA. Completely unheard of if you are from south Louisiana. Unfortunately, some family friends experienced damage from the storm, so I went out to their house and helped with whatever I could. We recently experienced a second storm that was also highly likely to produce tornados. This change in weather has me wondering if some of the lectures we have had in the Environmental Signaling class is happening right before our eyes. In Environmental Signaling, we discuss different topics that all evolve around the environment and how it may impact human. Some of those lectures included water pollution, lead pollution, global warming, and more. I hope these storms will be the last NOLA will see for a while! Stay safe and stay sane blog, until next month!
